Sensex breaches 3,600-mark after 9 months
The market is having a field day with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensitive index posting a net gain of 406.56 points in three consecutive sessions. The Sensex breached the 3,600 levels on Wednesday exactly after a period of two years. It was during the week ended March 1, 1997 when the Sensex had crossed the 3,600 mark.
Two-penny housing stocks provide exit route
After software, housing companies have become the latest market fetish. The scramble for anything that has a housing/home tag has provided ample room for growth of two-penny stocks in the sector. Thanks to the fillip provided by Yashwant Sinha's Budget proposals coupled with the blind bull-run, these stocks have risen spectacularly on the bourses.
Global castoroil futures by month end says BOOE
Trading in international castoroil futures is likely to be commence by the end of the current month, said Bombay Oilseeds & Oils Exchange president Navinchandra Shah. After trading in international castoroil futures is successfully launched, futures trading is likely to take place in palmolein and turmeric in a phased manner.
