Sensex breaches 3,600-mark after 9 months
The market is having a field day with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensitive index posting a net gain of 406.56 points in three consecutive sessions. The Sensex breached the 3,600 levels on Wednesday exactly after a period of two years. It was during the week ended March 1, 1997 when the Sensex had crossed the 3,600 mark.

Two-penny housing stocks provide exit route
After software, housing companies have become the latest market fetish. The scramble for anything that has a housing/home tag has provided ample room for growth of two-penny stocks in the sector. Trading in international castoroil futures is likely to be commence by the end of the current month, said Bombay Oilseeds & Oils Exchange president Navinchandra Shah. After trading in international castoroil futures is successfully launched, futures trading is likely to take place in palmolein and turmeric in a phased manner.
