New trade policy may do away with import curbs
Commerce minister Ramakrishna Hegde will unveil a new trade policy that is expected to do away with curbs on a number of imports while taking steps to boost service exports, analysts said on 30th March.
Draft agriculture policy awaits states' approval
The draft agriculture policy has been reviewed by the Prime Minister long back and has already been sent to the state governments for seeking their concurrence. The draft policy will be tabled in the Parliament only after all state governments give their concurrence, said the Union agriculture minister, Sompal.
Maharashtra's Sales tax hike to make tea costlier
Tea prices are set to rise by around Rs 10 per kg following the withdrawal of the 4% tax relief on loose tea and tax rationalisation for all varieties of tea coupled with various other levies by the Maharashtra government.
