US-64 bounces back after mega revamp
The equity portfolio of US-64 has turned healthier following a mega restructuring exercise undertaken by the Unit Trust of India during 1998-99. Apart from the transfer of weak PSU stocks to the Special Unit Scheme (SUS), UTI churned its portfolio in favour of highly liquid and growth stocks.
SBI to offer 11% to local partner in life insurance venture
The State Bank of India (SBI) has also decided to rope in a domestic partner for its proposed foray into life insurance venture by giving it a 11% stake while the foreign insurance major will hold 26%.
