Market expects Sensex to touch 5000 points
Shares are expected to reach new highs this week and test 5,000 points, driven by election-related buying and the country's firming economy.

Call rates remained close to 8% during the past week, tightening slightly on Saturday to 9% levels primarily due to the Rs 2,500 crore outflow on account of auction of 11.99 per cent 2009 paper.
FMC appoints consultants to beef up exchanges
Seven consultants have been appointed by the Forward Markets Commission (FMC), the regulatory body for commodity futures, to hasten the professionalisation of domestic commodity exchanges by early next year.
