Gathering HR nuggets on employees

P Sreevalsan Menon
Mumbai, Nov 2: Do you know the name of each employee who works for your company, Mr HR? Manpreet Singh Sodhi didn't, as he realised to his discomfiture when he set up shop in Singapore. Here he was with a 75-strong workforce, struggling to manage each employee's targets, appraisals, aspirations-and of course, remember the names.

So the engineer from Roorkee University decided to do something about the problem. The result: a software solution called Golden Nuggets, which is designed to solve HR problems. ``If tracking a company with about 75 employees was a tough job, I realised what most of the small and medium enterprises must be going through,'' says Sodhi, whose BSS Software has just completed and tested Golden Nuggets.

The solution can keep track of employees and their job profiles and track all key details that are required by an HR head. ``The chief executive can now have ready access to every aspect about his employees,'' Sodhi claims.

The software solution swings into action the moment an employee is recruited-and entered into the database. In addition to the work related details of the employee, the software manages details like the photograph of the employee, birthday and wedding anniversary dates.

``It is ideal for a company with branches spread all over the country,'' says Sodhi, who has priced the application software at Rs 9,900, and will officially launch the product in early November.
