Celltel firms slash rentals, airtime rates
Cellular operators on Friday announced reduction in rental and airtime tariffs following a Delhi high court order earlier in the day. While the airtime charges have been reduced to Rs 4 per minute from the present Rs 6, the monthly rental stands slashed to Rs 475 as against the present Rs 600 for the four metro cities.

Rlys open to ventures with UIC member nations on high-speed rail hook-up
The Railways is open to forming joint ventures with the member countries of the International Union of Railways (UIC). Stating this at a seminar on high speed transportation on Friday, Union minister of Railways Mamta Banerjee expressed the country's willingness to have high-speed rail transportation systems.

Gujarat yet to receive third tranche of $250-million ADB loan
Even though the Asian Development Bank (ADB) had sanctioned $250 million loan to of Gujarat way back in December 1996, the latter is yet to receive the third tranche of $100 million. Not even the ADB president Tadao Chino's recent visit here could ensure the early sanctioning of the loan.
