Aircel to provide congestion-free cell connections
Aircel Limited, a cellular service provider in Tamil Nadu which had attracted criticism for its call handling capacity, has now solved the congestion problem. The congestion was taking place at the point of interconnection between land lines and cell-phones. Till recently the company was operating on 18 PCM streams (which is normally allotted to all cell-phone service providers), but this has been enhanced to 24 PCMs to ease call traffic.Indianfinancialmarkets.com Web directory goes online

BBC to start TV journalism course
BBC Worldwide has accepted an invitation by the Asian Media Institute (AMI) to run a television journalism training course. The course will run through the Institute in Chennai, India.The BBC course will equip students to update methods of television news journalism.
Online ad revenue in Asia-Pacific to exceed $1 billion by 2004
Online advertising in Asia pacific, including India, is expected to generate $1.15 billion in revenues by 2004 reflecting a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 76 per cent from $67 million in 1999, a recent survey has pointed out."Over the next four years, online advertising in all Asia pacific countries would experience a bullish growth," according to the latest study on online advertising conducted by IDC. Much of the growth in online advertising in the region would occur between 2002 and 2004, it said.
Infosys Tech to lend support to Mauritius banking product customers
Infosys Technologies Ltd is to provide local support to the banking product customers in Mauritius.
