The IIS Institute of Management (IISIM), which was set up in collaboration with the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussees (ENPC), Paris, and IIS Infotech Ltd, is commencing its fifth session next month.Based on the European pattern, the ENPC MBA programme at IISIM comprises nine months of intensive course work, followed by four to six months of professional project work at a leading Indian company. The degree is awarded by ENPC, Paris, and is accredited by the Association of MBA Institutes Abroad (AMBA). They take in a total of 120 students per batch.
According to Dr Lalit Kapur, chief operating officer, Education Solutions Division, IIS Infotech Ltd, "The IIS Institute of Management offers an MBA programme with a truly international perspective. It gives the opportunity to do one term abroad at any of their campuses in Tokyo, Berkeley, Casablanca, Buenos Aires or Paris, at no extra charge. The students also get a chance to live and learn with professors from the top universities of the world such as MIT, Harvard, The London School of Economics, the Stern Business School, NYU, HAAS and Trinity College."
The programme has been running in India for the past four years and has established a niche for itself. IISIM graduates have found employment in prestigious organisations like McKinsey, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Cadila, Coopers & Lybrand, Ernst & Young, HTA, Nestle, Pepsi, Pfizer, Philips, Schlumberger and the Taj group, to name just a few, says Kapur.
The subjects being offered at IISIM for specialisation are International Finance and Economics, Management of Technology and International Marketing, and Global Strategy.
Students from various countries like the US, the UK, Japan and the Netherlands take part in the IISIM exchange programme. "This enriching, learning experience helps students to interact on various subjects like business prospects in the Asia Pacific region, the state of the financial market, economic culture of their respective countries, and makes them more confident both personally and professionally. It promotes the network between partnership programmes and encourages lateral thinking," Kapur adds.
