Power Systems bags Rs 15cr order from Tata Engg

Pune, Sept 6: Power systems India Ltd has bagged a Rs 15 crore order from Tata Engineering for manufacturing buses with engines running on compressed natural gas (CNG). Power Systems will be using the Tata Cummins B engines and these will be developed and manufactured at the new Daman facility of Power Systems, Cummins India Ltd managing director JL Deshmukh said.Tata Engineering has bagged an order for manufacturing these buses from the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC). DTC was forced by the Supreme Court to go in for eco-friendly alternative fuels which has led to the order for both Tata Engineering and Ashok Leyland. Tata Engineering will be manufacturing 500 buses to be run on CNG for which Power Systems will be developing and manufacturing the engines. Power Systems has been promoted by Cummins India Ltd and Cummins Diesel Sales and Service (India) Ltd and is into its first year of operations.
