Nasdaq-listed Global Online, which has recently entered the Indian market through its mega portal on Wednesday said that it planned to enter the telecom and Internet access business in the region in a big way. In addition to its international meta-hub portal Global Online India.com, the company is also planning on providing both Internet access and global telephony services to over one billion people in India, the company said here on Wednesday ."Now our focus will be on providing high speed, broadband Internet access and crystal clear reliable telephony services in India", Dr Christopher W Hartnett, chairman and founder of Global Online India said.
However, Mr Hartnett did not spell out what exactly is the investment plans in India and what kind of services the company would enter India. "We were one of the very first global telephone companies to provide telephony services internationally and now that experience and knowhow is going to be focused in India", he added.
"A great deal of all our family companies attention, technology and resources will be allocated towards India over the next two years," he said.
Global Online is a wholly owned subsidiary of the USA Global Link, a pioneering company in telecommunication service provider. The company has obtained a B category license for Hyderabad city and has announced its plans to enter the Indian ISP market in a big way.
