The award is given in recognition of individual initiative in technological and scientific development, with special focus on upgrading chemical technology.

Dr Reddy is chairman of the Dr Reddy's Group of Companies. According to Chemtech Foundation chairman, Mr Jasu Shah: "Dr Reddy is a remarkable example of a man who has made it to the top on his own." The award will be presented in November in Mumbai in a ceremony with the President of India, Mr K R Narayanan, giving away the awards.

A K Mathur is Raytheon country manager
RAYTHEON International Inc. has appointed Mr A K Mathur country manager for India. Mr Mathur will be responsible for implementing Raytheon's growth plans in India and the neighbouring Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Maldives regions. "The general aviation aircraft produced by Raytheon enjoys more than 50 per cent of the market share in the region, and the company looks forward to doing defence, electronics and aircraft business in the region," he says. Mr Mathur joined Raytheon in 1996 and has work experience of over 25 years in the corporate sector.
