Fourteen officials of GIC, arms promoted GMs
Even as four subsidiaries of the GIC have been made independent, 14 AGMs belonging to these subsidiaries along with the GIC have been promoted to fill up the large scale vacancies at the GM level of the cos during 2000-2001.

GIC union flays recruitment of 120 specialist officers
One of the officer's union of the GIC and its four subsidiaries -- have written to the finance minister Yashwant Sinha protesting against the recruiting of an additional 120 specialist officers despite having nearly 1,000 such officers deployed in general cadre.

ICICI to issue Rs 250-crore unsecured redeemable bonds
ICICI will come out with a Rs 250-crore issue of unsecured redeemable bonds with a green-shoe option of Rs 250 crore. This is under the umbrella prospectus approved by the Sebi for the year 2000-2001.
