The Spanish Inquisition. The very name evokes images of dungeons, torture racks, secret trials, heretics burned at the stake. The 342-year campaign by Spain and the Roman Catholic Church against "errant" Christians is viewed as one of the more brutal chapters in human history and stands as a symbol of intolerance and terror.

Paving the way for Hindi theatre

Suddenly a lot of Hindi theatre is happening in Mumbai which has been dominated mostly by Marathi and Gujarati plays. While the regional theatre provided sustenance to a lot of artists, Hindi theatre was considered a part of parallel theatre, an experimental exercise which actors treated more as part of their social activity than as a career.

IPTA will never close down
