Total interest rate deregulation, fiscal deficit to GDP ratio of 3.5%, three-year average inflation rate of 3% to 5%, cash reserve requirements for the banking sector and a transparent exchange rate policy are targets set for the country to move towards capital account convertibility by the year 1999-2000.

SEBI panel report on badla to be submitted this week

The most-awaited instruments in the capital market will take final shape when the two committees constituted by market regulatory body, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), decide on the futures and options and revised carry forward (badla) system this week.

LML net profit jumps 100%
