SBI net jumps 60%, to pay 40% dividend

[Details] The State Bank of India has reported a net profit of Rs 1329.3 crore for the year ended March 1997, a rise of nearly 60% from the previous year's Rs 831.6 crore. The board has also proposed a dividend of 40% which is subject to approval by the Reserve Bank of India.
