[Details] Ballarpur Industries chairman L M Thapar has been removed from the board of directors of the Thailand-based Phoenix Pulp and Paper Company, of which he is one of the original promoters.

Arvind Mills sales, profits higher

[Details] Arvind Mills has posted a turnover of Rs 863 crore during the year ended March 1997 against Rs 709 crore last year, a growth of 21%. The net profit was Rs 127 crore against Rs 113 crore, after providing for extra-ordinary charges of Rs 12 crore against Rs 3 crore and MAT of Rs 5 crore (nil).
