No entry: mob rejects VIPs

[Details] Angry Republican Party of India (RPI) activists yesterday prevented Chief Minister Manohar Joshi and his deputy Gopinath Munde from entering Mata Ramabai Ambedkar Nagar, the site of police firing in which 10 people were killed. The Chief Minister's motorcade was later booed at the Rajawadi Municipal Hospital also, where he went to enquire about the injured. He was forced to beat a hasty retreat.

SC notice to Prabhakar Rao in urea scam

[Details] The Supreme Court has issued notice to P V Prabhakar Rao, son of former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao, on a petition filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The plea challenged the anticipatory bail granted to him by the Andhra Pradesh High Court in connection with the Rs 130 crore urea scam.
