DoT wins first case on bank guarantee

[Details] The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has received a shot in the arm after a Chennai court gave a judgement in its favour, earlier this week, for encashing Rs 20 crore bank guarantee of the Hinduja group led HHS Communication. This is first case regarding the encashment of bank guarantees that the DoT has won.

[Details] The massive liquidity overhang in the system led to record trading in the wholesale debt market of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) yesterday with turnover touching Rs 1,553.58 crore.
