Landmines come under fire for claiming innocent lives

[Details] The Asian leg leading up to an international treaty to ban the use of anti-personnel mines (APMs) got underway in Manila, Phillipines, yesterday. Organised by the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Phillipines government, International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Phillipines Red Cross, the conference is being attended by semi and non-official civil and military delegates from 12 Asian countries.
