Inderjit, Harinder qualify for Asian championships

NEW DELHI, July 24: Rao Inderjit Singh (117 pts) and Harinder Singh Bedi (114 pts) qualified for the Asian Clay Pigeon Shooting Championship to be held in Brunei from August 9-14 after the trials held at the Dr Karni Singh Shooting Ranges here on Thursday.

Though 114 pts was fixed as the qualifying mark, the National Rifle Association of India has recommended that PS Sodhi and Hari Simran Sandhu (with 113 pts) be considered for the Brunei meet.

Harinder Singh Bedi who was pulled down on the first day after a score of 21 shot two cards of 23 on the second day to finish with 114 pts.The trap squad has already been named which includes two new faces in Zoravar Singh and Gaurav Sondhi.

Sandhu who was tied with Inderjit on the first day, shot a poor 19 in the first card on Thursday but improved with a score of 23 on the second card to take his total to 113 pts, thus staying in contention for the Brunei meet.
