Govt's hands tied in Bofors case: Mulayam

NEW DELHI, Aug 6: Defence Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today expressed the government's inability to initiate action against the recipients of pay-off in the Bofors gun deal until the company provides their names. Replying during question hour in the Rajya Sabha, he however said the embargo imposed on A B Bofors would continue till the Swedish arms manufacturer returns the amount paid in the commission. Earlier, BJP members in the House criticised the govt for not categorically stating whether any certificate was procured while purchasing arms and ammunitions from Sweden recently.
