NSE, OTC, CSE hit by satellite failure

[Details] The failure of INSAT-2D affected trading activity on major stock exchanges like the National Stock Exchange, Over-the-Counter Exchange of India (OTCEI) and the Calcutta Stock Exchange (CSE) on Friday. CSE and OTCEI, along with IDBI and UTI, will be functioning before Tuesday next as their VSATs have to be realigned.

[Details] British banking group Barclays admitted defeat in its attempt to make its investment banking unit BZW a major player on the global stage. It plans to sell the equities, equity capital markets and mergers and acquisitions parts of BZW and would prefer to do so as one package.
