Of the total 1.50 lakh approved claimants of the United Nations' agency dealing in compensation claims, well-placed sources from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) told The Indian Express that a sum of US $15.540 million has been sanctioned for disbursement to 6,309 persons in two categories. The total approved claims is estimated at over US $2 billion.
