Bihar, TN make last four stage

CALCUTTA, NOV 12: Bihar, Tamil Nadu and Punjab made it to the semi-final of the Inter-zonal Basketball Championship for men, defeating their opponents without too much of a problem today. The fourth semi-finalist will be decided tomorrow.

In the first match of the day, Tamil Nadu triumphed over Orissa 86-55 to move into the semis from Group A. P Kannabiram and VS Selvan scored 12 points each for the winners. Orissa were losers again later in the day when Punjab trounced them 82-57. Punjab skipper Vipan Kumar was their star performer, notching up 25 points and was helped by Ajay Kapila (21).

Tamil Nadu registered another victory, this time over reigning champions Rajasthan, with a score of 74-52, Selvan scored 18 points. Bihar handed Delhi their second defeat , winning by a margin of 98-82. Hosts Bengal ended on the losing side today, going down 70-64 to Karnataka.
