BJP likely to enter the race again

[Details] The Bharatiya Janata Party's hopes of being able to form an alternative government received a setback last night with parties in the United Front giving letters to the President that they would not support a BJP- or Congress-led government. However, BJP sources indicated that the party is likely to stake a claim to form an alternative government.

Industry calls for stable government

[Details] Industry associations have urged political leaders to resolve the political instability caused by the withdrawal of Congress support to Gujaral government at the earliest. Reacting strongly, Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industry's (Assocham) president L Lakshman said: "It is most unfortunate that political parties in their narrow interest are ruining the country's economic situation."
