[Details] To be T.N. Seshan's successor as the Chief Election Commissioner anywhere, for that matter is a tough job. The man who ruled the Election Commission like a dictator and boasted of having politicians for breakfast had created a reputation that was hard to maintain or even attempt.

[Details] Frankly, if I were O. Suzuki, I'd be tempted to take up the government's implicit offer to sell my stake in Maruti Udyog Limited. The reason is simple: even at today's book value, the value of Suzuki's 50 per cent stake in the company is roughly Rs 1,400 crore, but the price this will fetch in the market will fall with each passing day.
