No takers for Peugeot stake

The future of PAL-Peugeot Ltd, the joint venture company of Premier Automobiles and the French auto giant Peugeot, has become uncertain with no takers for the ailing company. With the self-imposed deadline of 30 days to sell the Peugeot stake coming nearer, Premier Automobiles is finding no buyers for the 32% stake held by the French car maker.

Unocal plans $2-bn gas project for India

The US oil giant Unocal has announced plans for an estimated $2 billion gas pipeline project for India as part of its "trans-Asia natural gas network." The proposed project visualises supply of gas to West Bengal for industry and power generation from Burma, where Unocal is developing another pipeline project.

UB group co banned from raising deposits

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) yesterday banned McDowell Krest Finance Ltd, a UB group company, from accepting deposits from the general public. This action from the RBI comes in the wake of a large number of complaints regarding default in repayment of matured deposits by the company.
