Army moves in as Jaipur still tense
Two columns of the Army were called in to assist the civil administration on Tuesday. The indefinite curfew imposed in the Shastri Nagar and the Bhatta Basti police station areas on Monday evening continued for the second day on Tuesday. The violence and subsequent police firing left six people dead and around 50 injured.
| 800 per cent rise in HIV positive cases
Health minister Dr Daulatrao Aher told the Legislative Assembly that there has been an alarming 800% rise in HIV positive cases in the Maharashtra State in a short span. The State has the dubious distinction of topping the HIV infected and AIDS affected patients.
