Kaunda detained in Zambia

[Details] Police in Zambia detained former President Kenneth Kaunda yesterday, five days after he returned to the southern African country for the first time since an attempted coup. Emergency laws, imposed just after a military officer tried to overthrow President Frederick Chiluba's Government on October 28, permit the "Father of the Nation" and now vocal Opposition leader to be held for four weeks without a court order.
