RJD looking forward to tie-up with Congress in Mumbai

[Details] With a possible Congress-Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) alliance cooking, the mood in the Mumbai circles of the RJD is upbeat, and reportedly, it has already marked out the constituency of their choice. Though no talks have as yet been initiated with the Congress, the party is keen on fighting the Shiv Sena in the North West Mumbai constituency.

SC lawyers want transparency in working of Governors

[Details] A group of Supreme Court lawyers has urged President K R Narayanan to introduce "transparency" in the appointment as well as working of Governors, expressing concern over the existing procedure. Alleging that State Governors currently work on their "whims and fancies" in a "partisan manner", the Senior Advocates' Association of India yesterday sent a letter to the President on the issue.
