  BJP may go back to Ayodhya, uniform code; allies worried
Differences are cropping up between the BJP and its allies over the former's renewed insistence on including Ayodhya, Article 370 and Uniform Civil Code in its election manifesto. This in turn is likely to hamper BJP's chance of having a common manifesto with allies.

The Shiv Sena has retracted from its earlier stance that Bal Thackeray was its president for life and told the Election Commission that he would have a five-year tenure while agreeing to amend its constitution to bring inner party democracy.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Gopinath Munde has ruled out the possibility of fielding former Chief Election Commissioner T N Seshan from Baramati Lok Sabha constituency. He said Pune and Baramati seats had been allotted to BJP and Seshan was not in BJP.
