Convicts call the shots in N Ireland prison
The Irish Republican Army (IRA) dug a tunnel for months at the Maze prison and got caught only when a guard fell into the hole. At a pre-Christmas party for prisoners' relatives, an IRA inmate serving life for murdering two Protestants donned a dress and walked out, earning the nickname, "Mrs Doubtfire." Such is the state of the prisons in Northern Ireland.

Harold Wilson was for Anglo-Soviet peace plan to solve Vietnam tangle
Britain's last Labour Prime Minister, Harold Wilson, proposed a dramatic joint peace mission with Soviet premier Alexei Kosygin to end the Vietnam war, according to documents declassified. British government papers released into the public domain after 30 years show that Wilson suggested the two men should go together to the North Vietnamese capital Hanoi.

An MP whose constituency was limited to her home!
Rajasthan BJP leadership is likely to drop one of its women MPs because she is said to have done "nothing" during her tenure. It is alleged that her husband did not allow her to attend public functions and meet people from the constituency. His logic was irrefutable: "Why should I allow you to meet my wife? Do you let me meet yours?" The BJP is now thinking of fielding her husband instead.
