  Sonia to start career at Sriperumbudur
Sonia Gandhi is finally poised to launch her much-hyped campaign for the Congress party for the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls. Sonia will be visiting Rajiv Gandhi's memorial site in Sriperumbudur on January 14, following which she will begin her campaign tour in Bangalore the next day.
  State Dalit leaders face wrath of uncrowned king
For Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Kanshi Ram the principal enemy is not only the "manuwadi parties", but also Maharashtra's Dalit leadership which according to him has depoliticised the Bahujan Samaj in the state. Kanshi Ram's consistent efforts to be accepted as the successor to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar has been undermined by Maharashtra where he is yet to make a dent.

New political alliances in state will pale before cong: Patnaik
Orissa chief minister J B Patnaik and president of the Congress' state unit has expressed optimism about his party's prospects in the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls. Patnaik has stated that the Congress will secure more than the 17 seats that it had won in the previous polls.

Patel, Gowda teams to roll JD Karnataka campaign on Jan 15
The Janata Dal (JD) will kick-start its campaign for the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls in Karnataka on January 15. Several of the party's leaders, including former Prime Minister Deve Gowda, will be visiting all 28 of the state's constituencies during a nine-day campaign tour.
Pawar no longer Cong's lone ranger
Sharad Pawar is unlikely to be left to himself to campaign for the Congress in Maharashtra during the Lok Sabha elections. The Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) has written to senior party leaders that they must undertake a vigorous campaign alongside Pawar. The MPCC has stated that Lok Sabha contestants must campaign in at least three other constituencies.
