Nadeem case adjourned till March 26

PRESS TRUST OF INDIA
LONDON, Jan 29: A london court today adjourned the hearing in the extradition case of Mumbai music director Nadeem Saifee Akhtar, allegedly involved in the murder case of Indian music baron Gulshan Kumar, to March 26.Bow Street magistrate Graham Parkinson ordered the adjournment after Nadeem's frontline lawyer Clive Nicholls, the highest paid extradition lawyer in England, pleaded and secured two months' time.

``The issue involves two things - religion and politics - and requires enough time to gather materials and investigations in India in defence of my client,'' Clive pleaded when the magistrate asked the reasons for adjournment.

The magistrate later extended the bail conditions for two more months on the basis of two sureties for 50,000 pound each and ordered Nadeem to appear before the court on March 26.
