Sinha throws out CBI case against Mahanta
Claiming that the CBI's evidence had not established "criminal culpability," Assam Governor Lt Gen (retd) S K Sinha declined to give sanction to the agency to prosecute Chief Minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta in the LoC scam. The Governor's refusal came on the grounds of the charges being based on heresay and unreliable witness statements.

Govt, Suzuki reach pact on technology transfer, royalty
The Maruti crisis showed signs of blowing over with the Union government and the Suzuki Motor Corporation finally reaching an agreement in the board meeting held on Thursday on the two contentious issues regarding transfer of technology and royalty payment.
