NAGPUR, February 5: The Nagpur police have unearthed an inter-state racket involved in the printing and distribution of fake currencies following the arrest of seven suspects including the assistant branch manager of a local bank, an advocate and a businessman, and the recovery of 210 fake currencies of Rs 100 denomination.Police have identified the suspects as Balaji Digamber Kotgire, assistant manager of Oriental Bank of Commerce at Kingsway Road, here, advocate Vikas Vyankatesh Deshpande, Ramanand Prabhudayal Agrawal, owner of a auto firm, Balaji Bhakre, Bhagwan Bhakre and Anand Kotgire. Investigations revealed that the fake notes originated from Hyderabad.
It all started on January 16 when the authorities at the Kingsway Road branch of the Oriental Bank detected as many as 210 fake currencies of Rs 100 denomination in their cash balance.
