  Laloo roots for Congress
In the first joint rally held by the Congress and the RJD in Ranchi, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president Laloo Prasad Yadav has exhorted the 20,000-plus audience to vote for the Congress candidate from Ranchi, Keshav Mahto Kamlesh.
  Sonia's time at a premium for seven Delhi Congmen
The seven Congress candidates in Delhi are fighting for Sonia Gandhi's time apart from fighting against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the forthcoming Parliamentary elections. Sonia, the Congress trump card, is scheduled to campaign in Delhi after February 10.

Gujarat Congress forced to make changes in list
Following protests and demonstrations and ticket denials, the Gujarat Congress has been compelled to make some last minute changes in its list of candidates yesterday on the last day of filing nominations.
Purohit back in Cong; hits out at ex-party
The Congress received a shot in the arm when Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member of the dissolved Lok Sabha Banwarilal Purohit rejoined the party. After being Congress member of Lok Sabha twice, Purohit had resigned from the party and joined the BJP in 1991.

Another setback for Dal in Karnataka
The Janata Dal Government in Karnataka suffered a major blow with Janata Dal Parliamentary Board Chairman K B Shanappa, resigning from his post and joining Rashtriya Nava Nirmana Vedike (RNNV), an political outfit floated by Ramakrishna Hegde.
Sonia's campaign will help Congress, admits Vajpayee
For the first time ever BJP's prime ministerial candidate Atal Behari Vajpayee admitted that the poll prospect of the Congress has improved with Sonia Gandhi's political plunge and will slightly gain with Sonia Gandhi campaigning for it. However, he maintained that the BJP along with its allies would get a clear mandate to form a stable Government.
