SEBI amends MF norms, makes full disclosure of portfolio mandatory
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has made it mandatory for mutual funds to disclose the entire portfolio of their schemes in the annual report. It has also defined the term `fundamental attributes' of a scheme to include the type of a scheme, investment objective and terms of issue.

Afghanistan quake leaves 4000 dead
A powerful earthquake jolted Afghanistan's remote northeast this week, killing as many as 4,000 people, an Afghan official said yesterday in the first casualty reports to emerge. The quake hit the city of Rustaq, 280 km north of the Afghan capital, Kabul, destroying 15,000 homes. Tremors of varying intensity reportedly rocked the mountainous area for hours afterwards.

Ministry approves Rs 325 cr fresh equity infusion into IA
The Union finance ministry has approved a revival package for Indian Airlines (IA) which proposes injection of fresh equity worth Rs 325 crore in a phased manner. The equity, however, can be utilised only to purchase new aircraft by the state-run airline. Further, the domestic carrier will also have to meet a number of performance parameters in order to earn the Rs 325-crore equity injection.
