The false promises that politicians make every time they go to the polls has made the voters sick and tired. And the gullible voters are awaiting a stable government which will get to its appointed task with a certain degree of professinalism.
  Justice above all
For a man who has so assiduously honed the art of keeping a low profile, drama, like some unwelcome mongrel, has been yapping at Justice B.N. Srikrishna's ankles right through these past five years. On February 16 his secretary, G.T. Mehta, unobtrusively entered Mantralaya carrying a bulky packet wrapped in ordinary brown paper, which he deposited with a clerk, and departed, just as quietly. The 700 pages of written material could prove to be very fatal for the ruling Sena-BJP government for its likely involvement in the 1992-93 riots.

Hot business ideas await being put into practice
Gone are the days when a secure job, preferably in a government office, was the ultimate for a young man. This is not the case any longer. Now, more and more people are showing interest in setting up their own businesses. Fortunately, there are areas in which an enterprising youth can try his luck.
"There are no differences, not at least until February 28"
Sharad Pawar, the Congress' strongman from Maharashtra, has claimed that the Congress party is not facing any dissent within its ranks. In an interview with The Indian Express, Pawar further added that Sonia Gandhi's entry into active politics will boost the Congress' fortunes in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Inside Track
Thanks to the ban by the Election Commission on pre-poll surveys, exit polls and publicity to candidates on election eve, the innumerable election-related TV talk shows have no option but to focus almost exclusively on Chief Election Commissioner M.S. Gill, during the unnaturally long gap between polling and counting.
