15 Killed, 60 houses burnt in Paite attack

PRESS TRUST OF INDIA
IMPHAL, FEB 23: At least fifteen Kuki villagers were killed and over sixty houses set on fire in renewed ethnic Kuki-Paite clashes in Manipur, official sources said. Sources said the tribals were killed and houses torched in a series of violent incidents in Churachandpur district last evening. Armed activists of the Zoumi Revolutionary Army (ZRA), supporting Paite activists, attacked a Kuki village between Sugnur and Tuning area and gunned down eight Kuki villagers.

Reports from the district, however, said the victims included some Kuki militants.
