Prince goes gaga over wife's cookingTOKYO: Japan's crown Prince Naruhito, celebrating his 38th birthday today, thanked his wife for cooking but made no mention of the hottest topic surrounding the couple -- whether they will produce an heir.
``It feels as though the years since our marriage have really flown by,'' the Prince said of his diplomat-turned-wife, Princess Masako, in a previously recorded news conference released on his birthday. ``I am really happy to have a place where I can relax,'' said the eldest son of Emperor Akihito. ``Somehow she manages to find time in her busy schedule of official duties to cook for me and it is really delicious,'' Naruhito said.
Hotline for Aids
BEIJING: China has set up a 24-hour Aids hotline giving information on the prevention of the virus and other sexually transmitted diseases and also about homosexuality, the official Xinhua news agency said today.
The line was set up by the China association for control of Aids and sexually transmitteddiseases.
The public can get answers to questions by following voice instructions and pressing buttons on the telephone. According to experts, China has 1,50,000 HIV cases, mostly among drug addicts and prostitutes. China's health ministry has put a plan in action to control the spread of Aids among drug users up until 2000 and to keep the number of HIV cases below 1.5 million between now and 2010. Beijing hopes to keep growth in sexually transmitted diseases to below 15 per cent a year.
