BJP dares Pawar to dislodge Govt

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
PUNE, February 23: State BJP spokesman Prakash Jawdekar today dared Congress leader Sharad Pawar to move a no-confidence motion against the alliance government in the forthcoming Assembly session instead of issuing threats every day.

Reacting sharply to the reported statement by AICC general secretary Gulam Nabi Azad that the governments in Maharashtra and Rajasthan would fall after Uttar Pradesh, Jawdekar ruled out any threat to the alliance government in the State.

``If Congress moves the no-confidence motion, the government will get the support of more than 170 MLAs,'' Jawdekar asserted and added that Congress leaders should not forget that the strength of alliance combine was 145, which was sufficient to prove the majority. The BJP leader also expressed confidence that there would not be a split in either BJP or Sena. ``Gujrat was the first and last incident in BJP's history,'' Jawdekar emphasised.Describing the crisis in UP as the `murder of democracy' Jawdekar said Bhandari had become a tool inCongress hands.
