  Earth-shaking discovery: Giant asteroid may hit planet in 2028
As if there isn't enough misery and trouble here already, a giant asteroid is likely to pass within 30,000 miles of the Earth in the year 2028 with an outside chance that it might even hit the planet. The galactic projectile, named Asteroid 1997 XF11, will come by the Earth on October 26, 2028.
  Literary award for Deshpande
Marathi authoress Nirmala Deshpande was presented with the first Sharadbabu Award for her Marathi novel Salat Sur Sanaicha by critic Dr Chandrakant Bandivadekar. The award, sponsored by authoress Jyotsna Deodhar, consists of Rs 5,000 and a memento.

Mumbai soaks itself in the colours of Holi
The concrete jungle splashed itself in colour as Mumbai celebrated Holi, the festival of colour, with its usual dose of gusto and fervour. Several residential localities were drenched in colours of all hues, with residents throwing off their inhibitions and moving around with near unrecognisable faces.
