England let the West Indies openers off the hook in the final session on the fourth day of the fifth Test in Bridgetown on Sunday when Philo Wallace first controversially survived a run-out and was then dropped by Dean Headley off Phil Tufnell. Play ended with the West Indies, who were chasing a 375-run victory target, on 71 for no wicket at the close.

Marcelo Rios subdued Britain's Greg Rusedski in four sets at Indian Wells to lift the ATP Tour Champions Cup -- a victory that will boost him to number three spot in the world rankings. Rios, the seventh seed from Chile, fired a backhand cross-court winner on his first match-point to complete a 6-3, 6-7 (15-17), 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 victory in two hours and 46 minutes.

Kapil Dev inspects controversial pitch
After a 80-day wait, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)'s pitch committee, led by Kapil Dev, visited the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium yesterday to investigate the causes of the abandoned one-day international between India and Sri Lanka here on December 25 last year. Kapil will submit his report to the Board within a week.
