Cambodian King grants pardon for deposed prince
Cambodian King Norodam Sihanouk yesterday granted a royal pardon for his son, the deposed co-premier Prince Norodom Ranariddh, who was convicted of plotting to overthrow the government. He signed the amnesty just before midnight, reversing a decision made earlier in the day to deny the pardon.

No meaning in continuing UN embargo against Libya, says India
India has questioned the wisdom of continuing sanctions against Libya even as United States and Britain once again rejected calls for lifting the UN embargo, insisting that the two Libyans suspected of bombing an American plane be handed over to either of them to stand trial.

CIA reveals intelligence budget
The National Intelligence budget for the United States this year totals $ 26.7 billion, virtually unchanged from last year, the Central Intelligence Agency said on Friday. Signalling a willingness to discuss at least overall intelligence spending patterns, CIA director George Tenet said that after careful review, he has concluded that release of the budget figure ``will not harm national security or otherwise harm intelligence sources and methods.''
