England in trouble
England were in deep trouble on a spiteful pitch at lunch on the second day of the sixth and final Test against West Indies at Antigua Recreation Ground yesterday. Rain had stopped play shortly after the morning session started. West Indian paceman Curtly Ambrose claimed the first wicket of the morning, that of nightwatchman Dean Headley.
South Africa in command
Daryll Cullinan led South Africa into a commanding position on the third day of the first Test against Sri Lanka at Newlands yesterday. Cullinan followed up his earlier 113 with a stroke-filled 68.
Waqar grabs four
A stubborn record eighth-wicket stand of 110 between Guy Whittall and Bryan Strang pulled Zimbabwe out of trouble on the first day of the second cricket Test against Pakistan.
