BJP allies hold fort in trust vote debate
Having provoked the treasury benches into action, Congress members sat back, only to be jolted in return by the BJP's allies on the first day of the debate on the motion of confidence moved by the BJP-led government. Congress Lok Sabha leader Sharad Pawar, in his speech during the debate, stirred the mostly lacklustre proceedings by pointedly asking Defence Minister George Fernandes and Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee ``what they would do'' when the BJP ``unleashes its secret agenda''.

However, the chief minister left uncovered a final deficit of Rs 536.67 crore on the plea that it would be bridged through effective collections of arrears of taxes and economy measures.
Whitewater scam: New records may land Hillary in hot waters
In a bizarre discovery in the late Vincent Foster's attic, Whitewater prosecutors have landed a second set of Hillary Rodham Clinton's once-elusive law firm billing records. The records have fewer handwritten notations and fewer pages but generally contain the same information as the set belatedly found in the White House in 1996.
