Bovelander will impart various techniques on penalty corner taking to brush up the perennial weak area for India.
The 16-member team which ended up last in the four-nation Colorado Cup event that concluded in Melbourne two days back and 16 others will make up the probables.
The team from Australia lands here late tonight.
Left-winger Gavin Ferreira and half-back Anwar Khan have not been invited. One more name is to be added to the camp.
Gill gets tough
``The Indian performance in the four-nation Colorado Cup Hockey Tournament in Australia was disappointing and wehave to improve our game to come good in the European conditions,'' Indian Hockey Federation (IHF) president KPS Gill today said.
Players whose fitness was doubtful may be dropped from the final team which would be announced at the end of the preparatory camp for the May World Cup in Utrect, the Netherlands, Gill said.
Though penalty-corner conversions still remain a problem area, the weakness could be rectified if players took advantage of the ensuing visit of Dutch penalty-corner expert Floris Bovelander, he said.
All senior team members who were rested for the Australia tour were back in shape and would join the team -- returning tonight from Sydney -- to train for the World Cup, Gill told PTI.
IHF is also gearing up for the Commonwealth Games, where hockey is a medal sport.
``Commonwealth is again a tough competition with England, Australia and New Zealand in the fray and we will be sending the national team to represent the country,'' Gill said.
About India's poor performance in Australia,Gill said some of the senior players did not perform to potential.
India finished last after going down to New Zealand in the play-off for the third place.
Inclusion of eight to nine youngsters in the national team was a positive development, said Gill.
He added that IHF had tied up with SAI to tap talent from schools and universities to choose the team for the future. He said IHF has planned to market hockey to a bigger audience and was in touch with Doordarshan to do promotional programming and telecast of matches. The problem with Indian hockey was lack of proper facilities around the country.
``Only one university in the country has astro-turf and we expect the younger generation to come forward and take to the game.'' The way things were moving, it would take atleast eight more years to produce a top-class team, Gill said.
