Nagra quits from PUSU chairmanship

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
CHANDIGARH, April 27: Kuljit Singh Nagra, a prominent student leader resigned from the chairmanship of the Panjab University Students Union (PUSU), today.

Announcing this, Nagra who had earlier been the president of PUSU said he was resigning to protest the passivity of the party. "Party activists are no longer striving for ideals for which the party was created," said Nagra.

Nagra, who is a university senator, was one of the few student activists who dominated student politics during the turbulent times in the State.

When elections were held at the PU campus after a gap of 14 years, Nagra was instrumental in PUSU winning all seats in the university students council.
