Godzilla treat to Clinton's Primary Colours at Cannes
The Cannes Film Festival, the premier showcase for world and independent cinema, opened on Wednesday with a classic Hollywood tale of ambition and betrayal, lust and devotion. More than 4,000 journalists are expected to descend on the southern French resort during the two-week festival, many of them to attend the European premiere of Primary Colours, a lightly disguised account of Bill Clinton's 1991 campaign for the US Presidency.

The desert blooms, Las Vegas style
It is famed as the oldest inhabited city in the world, as the lowest point on earth and as the first town to come under Palestinian self-rule in 1993. And in a few months the sleepy desert city of Jericho will have another claim to fame. A huge casino currently in the final stages of construction is likely to turn it into the Las Vegas of West Asia. The environment certainly bears similarity to the brash US capital of global gambling.

2,000-yr-old "Salt Man" -- The remains of a 2,000-year-old mummified body called "The Salt Man" is to be exhibited in Tehran on May 18. Iran's official IRNA news agency reported on Tuesday that the remains, with a number of tools and articles, were discovered in 1994 in a salt mine near the village of Hamzehloo, in western Zanjan province.
